ASD 2020 sessions will take place in Paul Berg Hall in the Li Ka Shing Center at Stanford University. The venue is located on the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Reserving a Hotel Room
There are many hotels conveniently located near the campus, in Palo Alto and in neighboring cities of Menlo Park and Mountain View. We have arranged blocks of rooms at two moderately priced options.

Stanford Guest House

The Stanford Guest House is located on SLAC campus. Stanford’s complimentary Marguerite shuttle system operates between SLAC (with a stop at the entrance to the Guest House) and the Stanford campus, and is available on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., approximately every 20 minutes. Reservations can be made by calling 650-926-2800–please mention the group code “20ASD“. When reserving online, you will need to click on “Stanford University” and enter “20ASD” in the “Group Code” field to receive the discounted rate.

The Cardinal Hotel

The Cardinal Hotel is located in downtown Palo Alto adjacent to many restaurants, bars and shops. It is 1.7 miles from Stanford’s Li Ka Shing Center (the conference venue).

Airports
San Francisco International Airport (21.4 miles from Stanford) or San Jose International Airport (16.9 miles from Stanford) are recommended for travel to the Bay Area.
Transportation
Uber or Lyft are recommended for travel to and from the airports. Car rentals are also available at each airport.

Note: Before Arriving – You must register your car at the link sent to you in your workshop email confirmation if you plan to park at the Searsville Lot.
Note: Your virtual event daily permit is valid in spaces where the sign is marked with ‘E’ at Searsville Lot (L-22) only. This linked map shows where Searsville Lot is located. The address is 190 Searsville Road and is approximately a 10 minute walk to Li Ka Shing Center. Parking is on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage you to arrive by 8am to secure a space.
You may also choose to park in alternate visitor paid parking (see link below). There are first-come, first-served visitor parking spaces located in the Via Ortega Garage for $4.46/hour or $35.60 per day. This garage is also located closest to the Banquet Dinner on April 2 if you choose to move your car there. Note: After 4pm, parking is free in most ‘A’, ‘C’ and ‘Visitor’ spaces.
